Among the additions are two films which will have their world premieres in Berlin: Aaron Schimberg’s satire Chained For Life, which will screen in Berlin Critics’ Week, and Daniel Hui’s psychological thriller Demons, which will be presented at Berlinale Forum.

Reel Suspects will also be screening footage of Bartosz Konopka’s polish historical drama The Mute. The director’s previous credits include Fear Of Falling and he was Oscar-nominated in 2010 for his documentary short Rabbit à la Berlin.

The company will also be talking to buyers about Ali Jaberansari’s Iranian drama Tehran: City Of Love. The film was produced by Babak Jalali through his company Here & There Productions – Jalali is the filmmaker behind Radio Dreams, which won Rotterdam’s Tiger award in 2016 and was also handled by Reel Suspects (Jaberansari was assistant director on that project).

Reel Suspects’ Berlin slate also includes Lluís Miñarro’s Spanish drama Love Me Not, Julien Paolini’s debut feature Amare Amaro, and it will be releasing first images of its recent Singaporean acquisition Revenge Of The Pontianak by Glen Goei and Gavin Yap, which mixes horror, romance and Asian folklore.
