Produced by Velvet Films and sold by Reel Suspects, Belgian director Véronique Jadin’s first feature film will be unveiled in Tribeca before taking part in Canada’s Fantasia Festival.

45-year-old Inès might behave like a model employee in her job selling cleaning products, but she isn’t recognised for it or paid properly. Under the blasé eye of young trainee Mélody, she decides to ask her boss Patrick for her first raise. But the situation gets out of hand, Mélody tries to intervene, and Patrick ends up with a broken skull. It’s an accident with all the characteristics of a crime. What can they do? They do what Ines does best: clean up… Thus goes the story (from a script penned by the director together with Nina Vanspranghe) of Employee of the Month [+], Belgian filmmaker Véronique Jadin’s first feature-length movie, which will be unveiled within the Online World Premières section of the Tribeca Film Festival (running 8 – 19 June) and which has also been chosen for the 26th Fantasia Festival (running 14 July – 3 August).

The cast stars Jasmina Douieb, Laetitia Mampaka, Alex Vizorek, Peter Van Den Begin and Laurence Bibot, while production comes courtesy of Sebastian Schelenz on behalf of Velvet Film, in co-production with screen.brussels, RTBF, BeTV/Voo and BNP Paribas Fortis Film Finance, with the support of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation Film Centre. International sales are steered by French firm Reel Suspects, who are set to present the feature film in a market premiere at the 75th Cannes Film Festival’s Marché du Film (running 17 – 25 May).
