SYNOPSIS : “Cat and mouse” is a surreal film in an undefined European landscape.
The title of the film referres to the offender (cat) and the victim (mouse). In the story the role of offender and victim changes constantly. Is the protagonist an offender or a victim? The same goes for the other characters in the film. The quest of the film is: can we trust our memory or will memory become unreliable when time passes and becomes unbearable to live with. “Cat and Mouse” is the story of an adolescent girl, Belle. After the death of her hated mother the village people interfere in her life and her memories of the past start to haunt her. Step by step her past and present tangle together in a inextricable world, for her and her surrounding.
